Masonry hammers and sledge hammers in Kenya, from 2lb to 20lb

For masonry hammers we stock the Mason Hammer in 2lb, 2.5lb and 3lb. Each has a steel head and is used for brick and block work, shaping stone and light demolition. The 2lb gives the most control for precise striking during bricklaying. The 2.5lb balances weight, control and impact force. The 3lb hits harder for breaking bricks and splitting stone.

Our sledge hammers run from 2lb to 20lb, so you can match the weight to the job. The 2lb, 3lb and 4lb are light to medium duty, for controlled striking, brick trimming and small breaking jobs. The 6lb and 8lb are heavy-duty site hammers for brick breaking and light demolition. The 10lb and 12lb are built for breaking concrete, blocks and stone. The 14lb to 20lb are extra and ultra heavy-duty tools that demolition crews and road teams use on reinforced concrete, asphalt and structural materials.

Heavier is not always better. A lighter head gives you more control and accuracy for detailed work, while a heavier head delivers more impact for breaking. Live prices for every weight are in the table below. The pick axes and safety helmets in the same hardware range go well with them on a breaking job.

What is the difference between a mason hammer and a sledge hammer?

A mason hammer (2lb to 3lb in our range) is a masonry tool for brick and block work, shaping stone and light demolition during building. A sledge hammer is for striking and breaking. Our sledge hammers go from 2lb up to 20lb, and the heavy weights are for concrete, stone and demolition work.

Which sledge hammer weight should I buy for breaking concrete?

The product descriptions recommend the 10lb and 12lb for breaking concrete, bricks, blocks and stone, and the 14lb to 20lb for reinforced concrete, asphalt and large demolition jobs. For general brick breaking and site work, a 6lb or 8lb gives you more control.
